It is fine but you get a better wash cloth if you do not use fabric conditioner. A lot of people especially in soft water areas do not rinse their face cloths sufficiently after use and this leads to a build up of soap residue which is the slimy feel you get in a cloth.As long as the cloth is used regularly (new ones have a lot of dye in them)I would wash it every time you wash colors .Is it OK to wash your showering wash cloth in the washing machine with liquid fabric refreshener?
You can but I will tell you this. When you use fabric softener, you will not get the absorbency in towels.





Also I found out when using things like that on wash cloths, you kind of get a slimy feeling when they get wet.





As far as odor eliminators, all you can do is try it out and see what results you get when they are wet.





Use white baking soda, such as Arm and Hammer laundry detergent. It works great eliminating odors.





You can also use a cup of white vinegar in the final rinse. That helps.

You can, but those products don't have the cleaning power of laundry detergent. Make sure to use hot water to disinfect the wash cloths until you can get some detergent. In a pinch I have also used dawn dish soap when I have run out of laundry detergent.
