I want to color quilt blocks instead of embrodering themHow would I set crayon coloring on fabric so it won't wash out?
Heat set using an iron. Place parchment baking paper on top to keep the wax off your iron and several sheets of plain newsprint or brown craft paper under the fabric to keep wax off the surface of the ironing boaed. How would I set crayon coloring on fabric so it won't wash out?
cover material with wax paper...that should work and not stick to the iron :)
You could try melting it on. But eventually it's going to wash out. Try to wash it as little as possible.
Try putting it in the oven for 10 minutes - not too hot!
Or try varnish
You could try ';ironing'; it in, but I would place a sheet of absorbent paper under the fabric and between the iron and the fabric to prevent the iron surface from beibg scorched by the wax in the crayon.
They make special crayons just for that. Check your local craft store.
